2023 Genesis G70 3.3T AWD, 8-speed automatic.

The problem initially started with a jolt when engaging Drive (D). It gradually became worse: delayed D engagement, strong jolts, and eventually 1st gear stopped engaging properly. The RPM would increase but the car would barely move; with more throttle, the gear would engage with a strong jolt. There were no warning lights or Check Engine light.

The transmission was removed and completely disassembled. To remove and reinstall the transmission, the engine was also removed.

The clutches/friction plates, solenoids, transmission fluid and filter were replaced, and the torque converter was repaired. The transmission was then reassembled, installed and calibrated.

The car worked normally for about 4 days. Then, after approximately 100 km of normal highway driving, the problem returned — the transmission started slipping and had problems transferring power again.

The transmission was disassembled again. They have now found that one of the clutch/friction packs is damaged again. It is currently being replaced and the transmission is being reassembled.

What could cause a clutch/friction pack to fail again almost immediately after a transmission repair? Any ideas?
