BMW copies Kia and no longer offers CD player in their new cars

Did Kia started a new trend? From what I've read BMW is following suit with no longer offering CD players in their new cars. It is still a dealer installed option though.

i'm sure all car makers will do away with cd players in the near future. my 2014 durango doesnt have one

It's kind of sad to see manufacturers offering less and charging more.

Well, it's not that they're offering less... cars today have more equipment that they ever have in history.

It's kinda like have your appendix taken out. If it's irreverent in today's world, is it worth taking up space with it?

Agreed, not to mention it declutters the dash for a much cleaner look.
